ADC Affiliate – Familia
Familia is an organisation set up to support and assist Litigants in Person throughout their Family Court Proceedings.
We are a team of McKenzie Friends with over 25 years experience supporting parents within the Family Justice System, between us.
We are headed by a mother and daughter team, with two other team members, and we offer this service in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, where the Courts permit McKenzie Friends.
There are many reasons one may choose to represent themselves during their family proceedings, and Familia supports those who are doing so in cases which involve making arrangements for children, Family Law Act orders and injunctions, and financial proceedings.
The Familia team can assist in many ways, including but not limited to: attending court hearings with you, help you to manage and prepare case papers, provide ongoing support both in and out of court, and by offering free of charge consultations and guidance.
The Family Justice System can be difficult to navigate, and emotions are often running high. Having some professional support and guidance during this process can be invaluable, and can make all the difference in helping parties to present and manage their cases effectively. We can assist parties to proceedings to understand and comply with the direction of the Court and support them in making child focused decisions where there are disputes over arrangements.
The Familia team is excited to be affiliated with the Alternative Divorce Company because our core values and beliefs truly align. We too believe that choice is key for people dealing with separation and divorce and in that sense the ADC is unique in it’s approach and represents a truly fresh direction.
We hope that through our affiliation with the Alternative Divorce Company, we will be able to extend our support and guidance to more parents and families and help to ensure that people are offered the support and guidance that they really need and in turn support the Company aims and those of the other affiliates.
